Ever since I was a kid, I’ve loved Professional Wrestling.

The Storylines, The Athletics, The Aesthetics, All of it.

It was real life superheroes going toe-to-toe with real life supervillains. Don’t get me wrong I loved me some X-men, Spider-man, and Batman Cartoons growing up – but these guys were in the flesh, and doing amazing things on a week to week basis.

I found wrestling at roughly 7 years old, and I was obsessed.

I played the video games, I watched the tapes (I might be dating myself with that one), and, despite them telling you not to, I did indeed try it at home.

Some kids wanted to be firefighters when they grew up, some kids wanted to be astronauts, and some wanted to hoist the Stanley Cup – but all I ever dreamed of was becoming a Professional Wrestler.

It took much longer than anticipated, with a lot of deviations along the way, but in 2018 my childhood dream became a reality as I stepped into a wrestling ring for the very first time. Initially, I was going to just give it a try for the next two years.

At the time of this writing, I’m sitting here going into my 7th year as a professional wrestler with well over 200 matches behind me, and many more to come. I think I can proudly say this is the longest two year career anyone has ever had.

I can’t say it’s all been easy, and I can’t say I’ve loved every single minute – but it’s been a dream come true. Not everyone takes the plunge to chase their dream, to do that thing they’ve always wanted to do, but I’m fortunate enough to say I have.

Have I made the WWE like I dreamed of? Not even close.

Have I made some great memories and done some cool sh*t along the way…

Well, in the words of my childhood hero – OH HELL YEAH!

Which brings me to why I’m writing this today. I’ve decided that I wanted to share my story, the ups, downs, and all-arounds of what being an independent professional wrestler in Alberta, Canada has been like for me. I’ve found that every match seems to have had some sort of story connected to it, whether in the ring, or out of it.

Think of this as my digital wrestling diary.

So take this as a “behind the curtain” look at my career, as I remember it (to the best of my ability – I recently took a beer can to the head… Thanks Michael).

I hope you enjoy taking this journey with me as I reflect back on the moments that got us to where we are today (while I can still remember them) – but I want you to be involved in this process as well. Leave comments below and let me know what you think of these experiences, ask questions, or share your favourite wrestling moments!
